Ludhiana: The socio spiritual custodians took charge of revitalizing the smoked environment of the industrial sultanate of the country. Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) led by its head and founder Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji brought together different stakeholders at the round table in the circuit house on Ferozepur road to mark the launch of yearlong campaign on nature conservation in Ludhiana – My Earth My Responsibility on July 27th 2014.
Mr. Vijay Sampla, Member of Parliament, Mr. Rai, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Punjab, Mr. Satnam Singh Ladhar, Additional Director, Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Mr. Babu Ram, Secratery, Punjab Pollution Control Board and Mr. Ralhan, president of Industrial Association along with other intellectuals of the town solicited the curtain raiser event as upholders of the issue of management of environment in urban context.
Commencing with a warm welcome of sensitive hearts ready to take charge of rebuilding a greener Ludhiana, the event took shape of a concerned consultative conference. Sadhvi Aditi Bharti Ji, disciple of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and the Program Incharge of Nature Conservation Program of DJJS, who is also an Environmentalist by profession, moderated the conference.
“Today the world stands face to face with the biggest environmental crisis, struggling with environmental issues like water crisis, desertification, biodiversity extinction and worst of all climate change. We are standing at the brink of complete devastation”, said Sadhvi Aditi Bharti Ji.
An exceptional consensus was met amongst guests as well as members of DJJS when the agenda – Environment: Whose Responsibility was put forth by the desk. “The philosophy of blame game comes in picture at the time of taking onus over depleting natural environment. Therefore, it’s time for each individual to realize his/her own environmental responsibility” said Sadhvi Aditi Bharti Ji.
Followed by a talk on Environment & Ethics by Sadhvi Deepika Bharti Ji, another disciple of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, who insisted that wrong actions of man have led to the present state of environmental crisis, the curtain raiser event concluded on the note of rebuilding fading human nature relationship even in the urban lifestyles.
The unique methodology of spirituality which can ignite the much needed compassion in individual hearts and make them feel one with mother nature, was the highlight of the sensitizing event attended by pro environment leaders and the locals.
The organization plans to take up multifarious projects of restoration, tree plantation, cleanliness drives, waste management and awareness generation throughout the course of My Earth My Responsibility campaign. The impact of the spiritual philosophy highlighted above was efficaciously visible in the young environment volunteers of DJJS clad in sea green T-shirts with awareness generating graphics.
