SANTULAN | Advocacy Session with Young 'Durgas' at 'Shaurya Prashikshan Varg'

Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’s Gender Equality program – Santulan was invited by Durgavahini – women wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad at their seven days ‘Shaurya Prashikshan Varg’ to conduct an advocacy session on the significance of ‘Dharma’ in the making of true 21st century women on 1st June 2014. An audience of around one hundred and eighty girls from diverse cultural and regional backgrounds was sensitized by Sadhvi Gender Trainers of the sansthan.

The ninety minutes interactive session successfully instilled in the young aspiring ‘Durgas', as they call them, a dire need of knowledge about their complete four dimensional personality. “Only by getting awakened at the level which is trans body, trans mind and trans intellect – the soul level; can you realize your true potential” said Sadhvi Deepika Bharti Ji, disciple of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, the founder and head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan. To explain the same Sadhvi Ji discussed the classic upanishadic analogy of chariot as a symbolic of human body with its components of senses, mind, intellect and the soul.

Through a set of questions on the dreams and aspirations of girls about their future, some stories and excerpts from upanishads and a joint analysis with the girls over different components of 21st century women; Sadhvi Ji unraveled the darker side of the picture too by highlighting the side effects of 21st century women syndrome as higher number of divorces, rising number of single mothers, child birth outside wedlock, child delinquency, depressions in children etc. Towards the end, a complete definition of a true 21st century women nurturing her complete personality on the firm foundation of ‘Dharma’ was delineated as a conclusion. Once again Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji’s spiritual grace and magnetic aura was felt amongst the beneficiaries of Santulan, this time, comprising of the staff and volunteers of Durgavahini too when they broke into tears over the desire of connecting with the innate ‘shakti’ they possess within.
