New Delhi: Gender discrimination, not just demoralizes and discourages women from stepping out and participating in society, but also encourages crime against them in the society. With a vision to create gender just mindsets and eliminate every possible form of crime, DJJS Karkardooma, under the banner of 'Swabhiman' - an initiative started this year on International Women's Day against different forms of crime against women, particularly female feticide, generated awareness in Pacific Mall, Karkardooma through innovative socio cultural methods, on International Women’s Day March 8, 2015.

On crime against women in India becoming the prominent topic and talk of the town, DJJS Karkardooma has been creating numerous programs to sensitize women to raise voice against this brutality. On the trot of such programs in the Swabhiman campaign, an exclusive dance ballet on the theme 'vicious cycle of subordination of women' was performed in the mall by a group of women gender experts' team. It was followed by a comedy act making a caustic remark on 'gender based discrimination' near the awareness exhibition.

The volunteers conducted a thought provoking interactive question answer round with the public present in the mall to understand their mindsets first and then counsel them accordingly. With rising crime rate against women in society, the modernization fails to meliorate the situation.

The aim of Santulan – the Gender Equality program of DJJS is to fight all forms of atrocities and violence against women. DJJS Karkardooma has undertaken a unique campaign named ENOUGH with its gang of young lady commanders who have been trained as gender experts under Santulan to combat the situation particularly in the national capital – New Delhi.
