Education is the basis of our growth. Education creates a structural background for our future and is the basic necessity for the overall development of an individual. Education helps us to move ahead with today’s progressive world. But, due to some socio-economic and cultural biasness in our society towards education of women in particular, there are large number of women who were not fortunate enough to receive this gift of education. Today, it creates a lot of hindrances to their day to day life and living. As is said, it’s never too late to begin something good. Therefore, steps must be taken to provide them with the opportunities and moral boosting to start their lives with this new opening. Henceforth, to facilitate their education, Syahi, an 8th Adult literacy centre was inaugurated by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, under the banner of Manthan SVK on 27th July 2019 for the needy women of Suraj Park, Badli, Delhi.

15 women have already enrolled in the centre. Inauguration was held at M.N. Convent School, Rohini, Delhi. The inauguration program started with a group song by Manthanites. Thereafter, lamp lightning ceremony was followed by a dance performance by the Manthan SVK students of Badli branch. A thought provoking skit was performed on the topic “Pehchan”, related to the multifarious problems faced by the women who are not literate. It was also reflected on to how to get rid of all these problems through education. A video on the development of women beneficiaries at Syahi centres was also showcased. After the video display, ID cards and kits were distributed to the women students enrolled for ALC, by the preachers of Divya jyoti Jagrati Sansthan - Sadhvi Deepa Bharti ji, Sadhvi Yogdivya Bharti ji and Sadhvi Shripada Bharti ji. Testimonies of 3 women beneficiaries of Vikaspuri ALC branch were also shared that reflected the positive social-cultural and economic impact on the life and living of the women once they become literate. The program ended with vote of thanks by Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji followed by the refreshments.
