Inaccessibility to, and inability to use, technology often becomes the reason why a person is left behind in the race of this world. Successful adoption of technology has become increasingly important to a person’s ability to live and function effectively in society. This makes it pertinent for adults to familiarize themselves with new technology such as the internet, smartphones, computers and such. In order to help adults, especially those aged 40 and above, Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra, under its programme SYAHI Adult Literacy Centre, organises regular 10-day Technical Grooming Workshops.
The recent batch of this workshop was virtually held from 15 Nov to 26 Nov 2021. It received enthusiastic participation from several parts of the country. The participants were groomed on various topics such as the basics of smartphones and apps like Google Meet, Chrome, Gmail, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, DJJS app etc. Topics such as phone settings comprising language, ringtone, alarm clock etc. were taught as well. Basics of photography, video-calling, frame-setting and camera settings were also discussed.
The Convocation Ceremony for the workshop included the beneficiaries who shared their testimonials through videos where they have expressed their learning experiences and appreciated the teaching methods followed by the teachers and volunteers. They also shared how the classes have boosted their confidence. Sadhvi Deepa Bharti ji, Project Head, Manthan SVK, presided over the virtual gathering and addressed the attendees. Sadhvi Aneesha Bharti ji was also present for the encouragement and motivation of the students. In the end, the students were given certificates for the successful completion of their course.
