Gorakhpur: Under the banner of ongoing Campaign NIRNAY covering 56 villages of Gorakhpur and its nearby districts, on 17 May 2015, an art competition was held for the children belonging to Taramandal Community.
During vacations, children are often seen roaming on streets, playing and sharing their innocent experiences with each other. And it has generally been conceptualized that through which they learn something or the other from the society. But, more often, because of unbraced faculty of discrimination, they tend to pick some bad visuals as well like acts of abusing drugs in the lonely corners of parks, misuse of words (abuse), cases of violence and crime which may be harmful in their lives altogether. So, turning these vacations safe and hearty, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan under its drug abuse eradication program Bodh, organized a 2 hours art competition for children.
Initially, they were introduced to each other through an ice-breaking activity conducted by the facilitators of Bodh. Subsequently, a short presentation was also shared with these children in order for disseminating a very sensitive sense of clarity on some basic concepts related to drugs and their attribute of harm and intoxication. Almost 75 students attended the event and painted their imagination and understanding regarding the subject on posters, at the end, all were motivated, appreciated and best three paintings were also awarded and applauded. Likewise, individual interactions and guidance was also provided to these participants regarding their studies and challenges of life.
