With the grace of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, founder and head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), a grand Shri Ram Katha was organized by DJJS from 16th November 2017 to 18th November 2017 at Shankar, District Jalandhar, Punjab. The Katha, a result of the pious efforts of the members of DJJS, with Sadhvi Jayanti Bharti Ji as the Katha Vyas and a team of trained musician disciples of DJJS succeeded in attracting a massive audience.
Narrating some of the life events of Shri Ram, Sadhvi Ji emphasised how Shri Ram throughout his life set examples of respecting women with his actions. For instance Shri Ram called Devi Ahilya ‘Mother’ and set her free from the curse of her husband, Maharishi Gautam.
He also, willingly accepted his expulsion from Ayodhya as demanded by his step-mother, Kaikeyi for fourteen years.
During the course of his exile, he saved the honour of Sugriv's wife Ruma by killing Bali. And of course killed Ravan and his accomplices for Sita’s honour.
In all the above situations Lord Ram had the choice of doing otherwise, but he chose to honour women. In case of Devi Ahilya, he did not judge her for the reason that led to the curse. In the case of Kaikeyi, he chose to give up his claim on the throne of Ayodhya without a question. Finally, in order to save Ruma's honour he even accepted to kill Bali through deceit. All of these deeds of the Lord were to teach the world to respect and honour women.
Sadhvi Ji further reiterated how Lord Ram valued righteousness and integrity in the society and worked to maintain and sustain them with every deed of his.
But the intriguing question is, where did he get all the mental and moral strength to do what he did? Answering which, Sadhvi Ji said that Shri Ram's moral strength came from his knowledge of the Divine. He was initiated into Eternal Knowledge (Brahm Gyan) by his spiritual Guru, Brahmrishi Vasisht. It was this Knowledge that helped Shri Ram retain his calm and peace of mind, despite all the hardships. This Divine Knowledge gave Lord Ram the wisdom to make the right decisions.
Considering the current state of the society, the way women are treated, the rate at which the society is degrading at all the levels, it is the need of the hour that more and more people be blessed with Divine Knowledge, which would help birth the long lost wisdom in humans. However, only a true and perfect spiritual master has the power to initiate people into this priceless Brahm Gyan and Sadguru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji fits the bill. Maharaj Ji has been imparting Divine Knowledge to spiritual seekers for decades and continues doing so, irrespective of caste, class or creed.
Concluding the Katha, Sadhvi Ji invited seekers to take the step to get initiated into Brahm Gyan and experience true blissfulness.
