Children hold the key to the future. It is important to ingrain the joy for the act of learning which paves way for creativity. Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK), a holistic education initiative that evolved from the inspiration of our revered Guru His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. Summer camps encourages children to pick up a new skill in a fun and fulfilling environment. Comprehending the vision of holistic education, it is imperative for the students to cultivate hobbies and interests by exploring their own creative abilities. Manthan SVK organized a Five-day Virtual Summer Camp from 21st – 30th June 2022. More than 100+ students from various SVKs came together on the digital platform with full of exuberance to take part in the camp.
The summer camp was organized with versatile activities such as Yoga, learning mandala art, sketching and doodling, musical class, value-based session, an insightful session on health and nutrition. The activities were so designed to cater to the overall development of the children which essentially connected to their inner self. The arts and craft session comprised of children delving into innovative learning like puppetry. In addition to this, on 21st June 2022, the 8th International Yoga Day, was also observed by all Manthanites. Warm up exercises were taught and all the students performed sitting and standing asanas. The benefits of the postures were narrated by the Yoga facilitator side by side as children performed with the instructions. The importance of meditation and pranayama, in day-to-day life to keeps one mentally, physically, psychologically healthy was highlighted. The students were encouraged to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration as they showcased a very energetic and spirited performance!
DJJS preacher disciples shared moral lessons dwelling on values like patriotism, integrity, determination, etc. Stating the importance of students developing a zest for life, the courage and ability to persevere, overcome any inner resistance and vacillation when approaching obstacles. Children participated with great gusto in the quiz, dance and poem recitation activities. Manthan volunteers hosted a musical class sharing basic knowledge about music, students had to identify the songs played on a musical instrument and thoroughly enjoyed spontaneous sing-along songs. The excitement of the children was palpable on the screen as they indulged in the different methods of learning, boosting their knowledge and competitive spirit. Children were also made aware of healthy living habits including eating, hygiene and cleanliness. Summer camps are conducted with much fervour by Manthan SVK every year so that students are emboldened to induce self-discipline in their lives which gives direction to their wandering minds.
