Crime against women in its various contours continues to surge in India. The day begins with the news of rapes, domestic violence, female feticide, trafficking, and harassment in various forms of media. Paying heed to the dismaying condition of the womenfolk, DJJS as another step in its series of conducting awareness walks nationwide organized a cognizing rally in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The awareness-generating rally involved 105 women and girls of local area to spread the word of awareness about rising graph of crime against women. Firstly, the participants were called to have an open discussion on the issue. A sensitizing skit displaying the involvement and achievements of women in almost every field of work today was presented. It was followed by a lecture to inculcate the sense of empowerment and self worth and then making them as peer educators.
Post the discussion, the rally started. It began from DAV College and set forth for pant choraha, new market area. The participants walked on streets holding placards and banners and chanting slogans to create awareness about consequences of crimes against women, the worst being female feticide.
Ms. Sandhya Mishra-Thana incharge and Ms. Seema Agarwal-District secretary, Lions club, Bhopal were invited to be the guest of honour. The guests appreciated the organization's ceaseless efforts in re establish the value for girl and reinstate the lost dignity of women.
To cope up with the issue of deteriorating status and vaule of women, DJJS, under the stewardship and mentorship of its founder and Head, Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, is working with different communities and regions through its distinct spiritual technique of self-awakening.
The idea behind Santulan - the gender equality program of DJJS is to create an overall balance which is not just in terms of numbers but in gender just perspectives behind every human endeavor. Its absence leads to degradation of the value-system of the society, at large.
But, fortunately following the able ideology of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj JI, the count of its Santulan’s beneficiaries is myriad and continues to rise.
