Gwalior: Woman, also known as shining beacon, is unfortunately contending today for equal status in society. Despite her contributions, she suffers from various kinds of deprivations. The status of women today is a result of social milieu that imposes subordination and eventually disables her from realizing her own potential. To meliorate her status in real sense, there is a need to make women realize their worth by appreciating them for their otherwise snubbed contributions. As a step towards this melioration, DJJS under its gender equality program "Santulan" conducts Annual Santulan Awards every year commemorating International Women's Day. This year, along with Jaipur, Latur and Meerut, DJJS Gwalior celebrated 7th Annual Santulan Awards on March 26, 2016 at Kusumaker Rang Manch, Gwalior.
