Smoking leaves an unseen scar; it fills your insides with toxins and tar. Usage of tobacco can cause a minor issue like coughing to life endangering issues such as lung cancer and asthma. Tobacco does not only cause cancer but also damages nearly every organ in our body. To spread awareness about the effects of tobacco on our health, every year, World No Tobacco day is celebrated on 31st May. Manthan-SVK is an initiative by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan which is working not only for the education of the underprivileged children of our society but also their overall development. To ensure that the children know about the adverse effects of Tobacco on their health, World No Tobacco day was celebrated in all the centres of Manthan-SVK.

Rallies were organized at Patel Nagar and Faridabad centres to make the surrounding areas aware of the importance of this day. Poster making activity, videos sessions and moral sessions were organized at other centres of Manthan. A play was also organized at Faridabad centre in which 11 brothers presented the effects of tobacco on our health through a mind boggling skit. 35 students of Manthan attended this skit to be made aware of the occasion. Guest of honor of this event was well esteemed Mr. Nagender Bhadana who is a member of the Haryana legislative assembly from the Indian National Lok Dal. He is representing the Faridabad NIT Vidhan Sabha constituency in Haryana. Almost an audience of 300-350 people took a pledge to not touch tobacco and also pass on the message to others. The skit was successful in conveying the message to the audience on a large scale. Many activities were organized at other centres for the occasion. Students pledged to pass on this message to as many as they can and be aware of the negative impact it has on our lives.
