Youth Day Celebration @ District Jail, Kurukshetra

Antarkranti in collaboration with Youth Affairs Organization conducted a spiritual session on 1st January, 2017 in the Prison premises to observe Youth Day which commemorates the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The event presided over by Swami Abhedadand Ji, Swami Yogeshanand Ji, Sadhvi Deepali Bharti Ji and Sadhvi Savita Bharti Ji (Preachers, DJJS) was graced by the august presence of Kurukshetra University Professor Sh. Deshwal and Kurukshetra Jail Superintendent Sh. Somnath Kumar and Deputy Superintendent Smt. Vimla Devi.

The fact that youth is the backbone of any nation was re-emphasised during the session which was attended by a gathering of 250 males and 16 female inmates who listened attentively to each and every word of wisdom coming from preachers. The preachers stressed that present scenario of our country can be improved only when a positive change is infused within the directionless youngsters. The lack of moral values and importance of spirituality in the lives of delinquent youth was also discussed at length by the preachers.

 The authorities were all praises for Antarkranti and its initiatives in the transformation of inmates and extended an invitation to Antarkranti for organizing more such events in the future. The event concluded with the superintendent presenting a token of appreciation to the preachers. At the end of the event, Akhand Gyan, a monthly magazine of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan was distributed to all participants and 38 inmates listed their name for the initiation.
