Illicit drugs destroy innumerable individual lives and undermine our societies. Confronting the illicit trade in drugs and its effects residually remain a major challenge for the whole of the international community.

'Youth Stand Against Drug Abuse' Workshop conducted at D. N. Intermediate College, Ghaziabad

On 10 December 2016, a workshop with a theme of ‘Youth Stand Against Drug Abuse’ organised by the Gaziabad center of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan founded/mentored by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji under its Drug Abuse Eradication Program [Bodh] commenced from 9a.m. to 11 a.m. at D. N. Intermediate College, Ghaziabad. This theme was selected to address the issue of drug-abusive behaviour which continuously causes negative results to the society including youth; encourage youth to partake in anti-drugs abuse activity; promote a healthy lifestyle; as well as raise awareness and educate youth on the importance in attaining a healthy generation, free from drug abusive behaviour and drug addiction were some of the highlights.

Sadhvi Shweta Bharti ji, disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and an expert on the subject threw light over various problems of youth regarding their experimentation with the lucrative substances around and their addiction, especially drugs. She also demonstrated on how drugs hypothetically produces feeling of high in one’s mind taking the example of cigarette smoking using various tools. A deep insight into the functionality of the drugs was received both by students as well as the staff present. The program was highly appreciated and very well received which is being shown when on the signature boards, the participants wrote great comments mostly reflecting upon their commitment towards eradicating the use of drugs within society as a whole. An exhibition was laid and pamphlets were also given so as to get the message revised in the heads of students later in their lives.
