Together We Can Change The World! djjs blog

An experiment was conducted in Geneva, Switzerland, during July 1997. A huge set up was prepared by Dr. Nicolas Gisin and colleges of the University of Geneva. A photon was split into two photons. And, they were separated by 14 miles. It was a striking observation that whatever was done to one photon, there was an immediate and similar impact on the other photon as well. In other words, whatever happened to one particle, the other particle was also affected, irrespective of where in the universe it was placed. Einstein called this phenomenon as 'Spooky action at a distance.' (Amir D. Aczel, Entanglement, The Greatest Mystery in Physics.)

Let's see its applicability in our lives. Photons that had the same origin behaved identical, even though only one was stimulated. Don't we all have the same origin? Thus, the way one being acts, thinks, and behaves; it is bound to cast a similar impact on all others as well.

In other words, we are all interconnected; and, therefore, it becomes important that we carry in our hearts a feeling of compassion for everyone. The feelings and emotions that we nurture in our hearts hold great power in them. They can cause a greater impact than mere intellect. Rolin Mc Craty at the institute of HeartMath, started studying and experimenting with the heart's electric and magnetic fields. It was found that the heart's electric field is 100 times stronger than the brain and that its magnetic field is 5000 times stronger than the brain.

In another HeartMath study, 'The Electricity of Touch: Detection and Measurement of Cardiac Energy Exchange Between People', researchers set out to determine whether the heart's electromagnetic field, as measured by an electrocardiogram (ECG), in one individual could be detected and measured in another person, when the pair was either seated within about three feet or held hands. The results of this experiment were positive. The data showed that 'when people are together, transference of the electromagnetic energy produced by the heart occurs.'

Now, when a guru initiates a disciple into Brahm Gyan' meditation, he activates the otherwise dormant primordial vibration in his inner being and weaves it into his breath. When we practice this meditation, by focusing on the cosmic vibration within, it generates a sort of electric current in our nerves. Subsequently, the magnetic field around our body gets enhanced.

And, as we read above, these fields cast an impact on our surroundings. Therefore, along with meditation, when we feel compassion, love and peace in our hearts for the world, compassion being an emotion, and emotions and feelings themselves being the vibrations, we can improve our world. In fact, it has been found that positive emotions relax the DNA helix, which boosts the immune system and our health too. But negative emotions tighten the DNA helix, which degrades our health and also the immune system. Therefore, positive thoughts not only change our environment, but our DNA too!

It is important to understand that the greater the misery and unhappiness in the world, the more are the efforts and people needed to achieve a big goal. When the goal is happiness for the entire humanity, intense one-pointed dedication is required by large groups of people for achieving it. Just as, for a rocket to go past the earth's gravitational pull, escape velocity is needed. Likewise, to transcend the severe pull of negativity, intense coherent positivity needs to be generated. What makes a laser beam so powerful as compared to the ordinary light? Visible light generally falls gently on objects and makes them visible; but for the light to cut through or drill through objects, we need an intense beam of coherent light, which is the laser beam. In order to bring about massive, large scale change, laser like intensity and collective effort is needed. When Collective Meditation is practised, along with the feelings of peace and compassion in the heart, a Gigantic Positive Aura transmitting intense coherent feelings of positivity pierces through negativity and establishes PEACE.

The International Peace Project in the Middle East is a vivid example of this. As part of this social experiment, a collective meditation was performed during August and September, 1983 in Jerusalem. This collective meditation aimed at reducing societal stress in collective consciousness, thereby improving the quality life in Israel and reducing war deaths in Lebanon. It was found, as the number of people participating in group meditation increased, a statistically significant positive effect in the predicted direction on all quality of life indices was seen. The war in Lebanon was particularly stubborn, resisting solution for a long time. But this experiment saw a drop of 75% in war deaths, when the group size meditating was large, suggesting decreased stress levels and increased coherence in regional collective consciousness. In the Journal of Conflict Resolution, this whole experiment and its results were published. It mentions that this approach of collective meditation is a viable means to resolve a conflict without violence and thereby create a stable basis for progress and peace. Hence, we can see that single pointed meditation efforts by multiple people can bring laser like strength to break through the dense societal stress and disharmony, subsequently resulting in the establishment of the much desired PEACE.
