Lord Krishna is the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu – an absolute incarnation of the Almighty, a Supreme Being. Born in the Dwapar Yuga, Lord Krishna is central to the Shrimad Bhagvad Purana and also the reciter of the Bhagvad Gita before the epic battle of Mahabharata.

Shri Krishna Janmashtmi Mahotsav marks the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna and is celebrated in great fervour by Hindus globally.

Lord Krishna bestowed Divine Knowledge unto warrior disciple Arjun, before the Mahabharata, to resolve the tussle between “right” and “wrong” in his mind, and providing him with the path of “Dharma” to alleviate him above “Karma” and become a warrior who fights for absolute right.

Over the years, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan has been celebrating Shri Krishna Janmashtmi with innate zeal on a grand level. At the DDA Grounds, Dwarka in New Delhi, the event site spread over several acres of land, will witness more than three hundred fifty thousand (3.5 lac) visitors coming to the event over the course of three days. The organisation makes conscientious endeavours to convey the ancient legacy of inspirations to the masses, and inculcate in them the invaluable divine endowments via plethora of cultural festivals

Before the mainstream activities marking the event, volunteer members of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan proudly take part in a spiritual peace march, or Shobha Yatra. Queued up in huge numbers, sonorously raising slogans of World Peace, they visit different areas of the city in a peaceful procession, arousing the sparks and vibes of collective consciousness in the people. They also cordially invite people from all over the city to be a part of this grand, mega event organised by the sansthan during the course of three days.

Followers and disciples of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji come together during the festivities of the Shri Krishna Janmashtmi Mahotsav event to take part in ballet performances based upon the life and teachings of the deitee. Preparations for the event start months in advance, with great enthusiasm and fervour. Volunteerism reaches its epitome as all members of these performance passionately rehearse and perform in order to deliver exceptional and enthralling musical and dramatic performances that attract the attention of many hundreds of thousands of people in the audience.

The preacher-disciples of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji unfold the deep spiritual meanings hidden in the divine sports of Lord Krishna through highly insightful discourses. These discourses, delivered under the prudent guidance of His Holiness, are eye-openers for the huge masses attending the program. This realisation dawns upon them that the underlying imports in the divine leela’s of Lord Krishna were relevant not only in that era but hold paramount significance even in today's age. Practical examples exhibit the importance of spirituality and its connection with our everyday life. People gain insight into how to address problems of personal and social concern through the teachings of the Greatest Management Guru of all times, Lord Krishna.

Smaller events for Janmashtmi are organized at all 75 centres of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan across India, and more than 20 centres of the sansthan internationally, making it a global annual celebration with thousands of volunteers and disciples taking part in the event, and millions of devotees coming together in the true spirit of festivities, as Lord had explained, almost 6,000 years ago.
