Along with providing holistic education to underprivileged children, it is believed at Manthan, that making unemployed and underprivileged women financially self reliable is also equally important.

As Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK) seeks to skill Indian women and make them self reliant, we bring to you the Gurukul Project. Under the umbrella of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan and the divine vision of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharajji, this project comprises of ‘Syahi’ - Adult Literacy Centres and ‘Prashikshan’ - Sewing and Stitching Centres. These centres inaugurated in Gurugram on 18th of April, 2017 have been possible with the support and help of the Rotaract Club of Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce.

50 women enrolled themselves enthusiastically for the same. The inauguration event saw many guests including Rotarian Mr. Praveen Kandru, District Director for Singer Projects 3011. We had with us young Rotaractors Deepali, Peshal and Nikita along with Manthan Program Coordinator Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji, Sadhvi Yogdivya Bharti Ji and Sadhvi Deepankara Bharti Ji from Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan.

The event included a street play titled ‘Pehchaan’ portraying the different aspects of education and livelihood for women, followed by a dance performance by Manthanites titled ‘Goonj Divya Jyoti Ki’.

The major highlights of the event remained the distribution of stationery kits and I-Cards to the beneficiaries. Our adult Manthanites expressed with great emotion, how they felt that through Manthan, their dream of being able to be self reliant was not that unattainable anymore.
