Bodh encouraged the prevention of drug abuse amongst students

Some of the teenaged students studying in grades 9-10 respectively at Government senior secondary school, Pratappura in Phillaur, Punjab clearly expressed their understandings relating to manifold harms of drug abuse in an exclusive prevention workshop conducted by the experts of Bodh under the affiliation of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan mentored by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji on the 26th of May, 2015.

Rajveer, a class 10th student, pronounced aloud, " nasha karne se bahut bimaria lagti hai", another student, Karan Kumar said, “hum nasha na karke apne desh nu khush haal banawange" and in the same series, Diljot Singh exclaimed, " nasha karan de naal ghar vich mahoul kharaab hunda hai" etc. In which case, the outcome of these personal exclamations straightforwardly hints at clear cut understanding about many interconnected harmful effects of drug abuse and addiction. Directly stretching upon such surprising observation, Sadhvi Triveni Bharti ji and Sadhvi Sharanya Bharti ji who are enriched with the expertise on the subject matter as the disciples of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji began the workshop by introducing the participants to the contrasting manner with regards to the trend in which drug abuse and its extensive addiction is leading to its illegal trafficking though majority of the population is well acquainted to the harmful consequences of consumption. Along with the available data of facts concerning the devastations caused by addiction, they demonstrated how experimentation leads to addiction. Sadhvi Trevine Bharti ji stated carelessness and lack of farsightedness as the two prime reasons due to which this problem is gravely rising, especially amongst the youth.

The experts then explained spiritual enlightenment alone can help combat one's state of mind which always pushes an individual to experiment with such intoxicating drugs by awakening one's faculty of reasoning. Likewise, this workshop which benefited about 150 students and 11 teachers productively lasted for one and a half hours. In the meanwhile, the facilitators gave their best in resolving the queries and doubts of the participants.

At the end, all the participants unitedly pledged to not experiment with drugs even once and were determined to spread awareness among people to boycott any intoxicating substance. They also took part in our socially oriented signature campaign by signing the document stating 'Say No To Drugs'.
