Education is a human's most important birth right. Education builds a human, his character, his opinions, his choices and his life. Education is the foundation of a society. And for education to be able to reach its ultimate goal, the only magic ingredient is an able teacher.
A good teacher constantly strives to remove the darkness of ignorance through the light of knowledge.
In the light of this understanding, Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan’s initiative Manthan - Sampoorna Vikas Kendra, a holistic education program for underprivileged children, is continuously working towards the betterment of this social institution. For the same, an interactive capacity building workshop for the teachers of Manthan SVK was held on 4th of November, 2017, in the conference hall, Vijay Enclave, Dwarka, New Delhi.
This workshop consisted of activities that were aimed at improving the teachers’ communication skills, teaching styles, listening skills and psychological thinking abilities.
The workshop was facilitated by Miss Mohita- an Educationist and English Coach, Miss Jayanti- Life skill trainer, Miss Neha Gupta – Curriculum developer, Manthan SVK and Sadhvi Pratichaya Bharti Ji – Preacher, DJJS. Miss Mohita designed and presented the 100 play way activities of English language through various interactive and engaging methods. Miss Neha Gupta talked about bridging the gaps between teachers and students phycology and Miss Jayanti shared tips on improving stereotype teaching methods and how to work on building an effective personality.
Besides these points, Sadhvi Pritchhaya Bharti Ji talked about the need of inclusive education and understanding the socio-cultural disparities prevalent in the communities we are working in. She threw light on how to effectively direct these disadvantaged children towards mainstream education.
Main issues regarding personality development were discussed, comprising of effective communication skills, time management, health management, daily routine adhering, taking responsibility, interesting and interactive education styles and many more.
As a result of these efforts by the workshop facilitators as well as attendees, the teachers took home numerous new ideas on how to make their teaching more interesting and more informative, in order to fulfill their responsibility of imparting quality education for one and all.
Presenting the gist of the workshop, Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji- Program Co-coordinator, Manthan SVK, DJJS motivated one and all with her inspiring message on unity and honesty. She expressed gratitude towards the facilitators for contributing their time and services towards the social cause.
