DJJS presented yet another highly inspiring spiritual program to a worldwide audience. On 13 February 2022, the 91st edition of the Webcast Series of Sunday spiritual discourse was webcasted on the DJJS’s official YouTube Channel. The event was virtually witnessed by people of all age groups. The virtual event commenced with melodious devotional songs. Thereafter, a spiritual discourse by Sadhvi Manimala Bharti Ji, the disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Founder and Head of DJJS), highlighted the key elements necessary for the elevation of a disciple to tread the path of spirituality.

The relationship between Guru and the disciple is more precious than any other thing on this planet. It is based on the divine love of the Guru for the disciple. However, there comes a time when the disciple is tested by the situations in life. A time when the disciple has to pull the reigns of his own mind and overcome his vices to remain firm on this spiritual path! But, how this can be done? Sadhvi Ji cited a brilliant historic example of Rani Padmavati’s jauhar. When Alauddin Khilji became enamored with Padmavati’s beauty, he laid seize to Chittor in order to obtain her. With no option left, Rani Padmini committed ‘jauhar’ (self immolation) thereby defeating Khilji’s aim and protecting her esteem dignity and character. Similarly, sadhvi ji elaborated, that whenever khilji like vices (anger, greed, jealousy, pride…) pounces over a disciple, a true disciple too sits in meditation and becomes one with the inner fire (Brahm Agni). The fire lighted not anywhere outside but within him at the time of initiation into Brahm Gyan’s meditation. This inner spiritual immolation elevates a disciple to such an extent that these vices then cannot harm him in any of the way and a disciple continues to walk the spiritual path shown by his satguru without a break. There exists no room for any discrepancy or divergence.
Sadhvi Ji sufficed this philosophy by quoting an instance of Bhakt Nandnar given in our spiritual texts. In the history of the Thillai Natraja Temple at Chidambaram, Nandanar’s name is always mentioned as one of the truest disciples of Lord Shiva. Nandanar, who always craved to have a divine audience of Lord Natraja in the Chidambaram temple, but, he was not permitted by the priests there. So, ultimately, he too had to pass through the burning flames in order to reach his Lord. Sadhvi Ji said that this example is not about walking through the fire anywhere outside, but is pointing towards the intense deep meditation a disciple has to go through to become one with the Lord. It is about burning all sins and vices in the spiritual fire for attaining the spiritual summit.

Bringing the event to a close, Sadhvi Ji said that no matter what the circumstances are in life, the disciple must choose the path of intense meditation over everything else in the world. History testifies that only this endeavor of a disciple leads him to spiritual fulfillment. The event ended with the meditation session undertaken by the members of DJJS for world peace.
