Antardrishti is a unique social initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan established with the objective of mainstreaming people with disabilities into society; by providing them with sound spiritual foundation, vocational and extra-curricular skills and employment opportunities that help in holistic character building. The program works towards complete empowerment of visually and physically challenged by transforming them into “Differently Abled Persons”. Also, it supports to craft the conditional and deprived lives of the people with disabilities, so they can live independently and that too with dignity.
Antardrishti also conducts numerous counseling sessions and motivational lectures for the visually impaired. Such programs are undertaken in various schools, institutions & workplaces for the specially abled people from time to time.
One such motivational discourse along with bhajans was delivered to the students of Rama Vihar Girls Hostel for the blind by DJJS Preacher Sadhvi Shivani Bharti on 9th May, 2015. Since the students were young kids, the main objective and the focus of the lecture was to encourage and spiritually motivate children in a light kind of way. Through bhajans and frequent interaction, the children’s’ interest was kept alive and they were able to relate with and understand the discussion in a fun way. The inspirational lecture instilled confidence and gave them a kind of spiritual leaning.
Further, Sadhvi Shivani Bharti elaborated on personality development as to how it is necessary to groom oneself, not only at the physical level but at the soul level too. She also explained on how through spiritual awakening, the disabilities can be transformed into different abilities. She emphasized the need to realize one’s true self which would help unleash our inner potential. By awakening one’s spiritual consciousness, a person can become stronger, more capable and independent person. She quoted several examples of people with disabilities who did not let their disability become an obstacle in their path to achieve great heights in life. She went on say, “blind is not the one deprived of sight, rather the one who is unaware of or blind to the essence of life!
A number of fun activities were carried out with moral learning in them.
Apart from this, a live testimony of a blind disciple of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji was also presented. The blind brother spoke about the positive changes brought about in his life after initiating into “Brahm Gyan”.
The students greatly enthused by these inspiring words came forward to participate and sing bhajans. They also showed a lot of interest at the end of the lecture to share their feelings and interact further with the preachers.
The program ended with the distribution of Prasad.
