Guru Charita, a scriptural text about Lord Dattatreya and his two incarnations, is devoutly followed by spiritual aspirants mostly in Karnataka, Maharashta and Andhra Pradesh. It is in conversation form between the master and the disciple about the greatness of the Guru and clarifying all the doubts of the disciple. The book includes the life story of Shri Narasimha Saraswati, his philosophy and related stories. The book is divided into 3 parts: Dnyankand (Knowledge part), Karmakand (Work part) and Bhaktikand (Devotion Part).
Recitation of Shri Guru Charita for seven days called saptah was held at DJJS Bangalore at Divya Jyoti Dhyana Mandira, 8th Mile, Hesaraghatta Road, T.Dasarahalli, and Bangalore. The saptah began by praying in the lotus feet of divine master Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji by all devotees. Numerous people recited the text everyday followed by Kshama prarthana. Everyday several religious activities including the recital of Sri Guru Charitra took place by all the people. Motivational discourses and melodious bhajans were presented by disciples of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. The saptah concluded with Havan by initiated priests and Pujan of the Holy Text and the Guru.
