A four day kids’ camp with ‘Udaan’ as the theme was organized by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) under the divine grace of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji at Nurmahal, Punjab from 19th to 22nd June 2017. The orators at the event were Sadhvi Manendra Bharti Ji, Sadhvi Kawal Bharti Ji, Sadhvi Rajwant Bharti Ji, and Sadhvi Rajwinder Bharti Ji. At first the kids were made to play many indoor and outdoor games. Thereafter, the attention of the kids was drawn in with the performance of various activities on the themes such as Unity, Focus and Concentration. The activities were designed to encourage the kids to connect and tune in to their inner self.  This feature was also achieved through the staging of Bhajan session (Devotional Songs) at the camp.

On day two of the camp, a lecture was delivered on Time Management. Sadhvi Ji stated that since time is limited for everyone around, it must be used wisely. The kids were motivated to inculcate discipline in their lives. Sadhvi Ji said that it is through discipline that one can make the most of the time that they have in their hand. Discipline gives direction to the wandering mind. With discipline one can perform the requisite tasks in time provided. Another lecture that was also given at the camp by Sadhvi Ji was on National Hero (Bhagat Singh). Sadhvi Ji asserted that Bhagat Singh was truly the Hero of the Nation for he did not hold back from giving his life for the purpose of making his country free from the British yoke.  Bhagat Singh, when jailed at the age of twenty-three, went on to perform a hunger strike demanding the betterment of jail conditions for the fellow Indian prisoners. He did not fear the end of his life even when he was sentenced to be hanged till death.

On the last two days of the camp, a Spiritual session titled ‘what is Brahm Gyan?’ was conducted by the orators of the event. Sadhvi Ji explained to the children the fact that we humans are not just creatures made of flesh and bones but have inner consciousness that makes us who we are. The first purpose of life is to be able to tap into that consciousness so as to understand our role in the larger context of the universe more accurately. The process through which this can be attained is called Brahm Gyan. It is only an enlightened spiritual Master who can open the inner gateway and let the seeker witness the divine within. Once the seeker connects to the Self through Brahm Gyan it becomes natural for one to go through the journey of life with happiness and ease. The individual gains wisdom to live one’s life without being a threat for others for one learns to value and respect not only one’s own life but that of others as well.
