The felicitous beginning of Culture Connect Conclave by SAM few months back is gaining pace towards restoring the country’s rich cultural glory. Furthering the same, in cooperation with Kamdhenu’ (the Indian cow breed conservation and development program), being run under the guidance of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, the Founder and Head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, SAM came up with the chapter of this Conclave at Divya Dham Ashram on October 19, 2015. It was yet another collaboration with Delhi’s K.R. Mangalam World School. Putting forth its initiative ‘Cultural Heritage Preservation’, SAM convened over 250 students including a group of students accompanied by teachers from Germany. The attendees enthusiastically took part in the program.

As the children set out for an unprecedented cultural experience at Culture Connect Conclave, SAM Volunteers sedulously had their spots grabbed to make sure they deliver the best. Introducing the pristine Indian culture, students were greeted with Tilak on forehead and were then taken to the sitting area where they were extended a heart-warming welcome by Team SAM. It was followed by a wonderful Makhan chor – Matki fod dance performance, showing Lord Krishna’s Makhan Leela, by members of Eternal Splendor.

Students were then taken on a Gaushala tour where they were acquainted with great benefits derived from cow products and the crucial need to protect their sanctity, thereby saving them from inhumane acts. Having acknowledged the significance of preserving Mother Cow, students expressed, “We were not aware of such important facts that Indian cows should be preserved as they are on the verge of extinction. Our knowledge was only limited to cow milk that it’s healthy for our body. But it’s also good to know that we can make an effective use of their other products like cow urine, cow dung etc. We have an awesome experience here.” Some students also said, “We couldn’t imagine that this day is going to be so interesting. We are having fun here and are also being made conversant with the rich culture and tradition of our country.”

They were also taken to Yagyashala and areas where other pets were raised.

Later, students went on to participate in competitive activities such as sack race, matki race, lemon race and tug of war. The ongoing Vlogging witnessed them saying, “We are enjoying a lot here and these moments are so good. We would again like to attend such a great program.”

The rustic surroundings captivated them as they extremely enjoyed the village feel. The bucolic set up with charkha and chulha, well, tractor etc. elicited smiles from them.  An exclusive photo booth was setup with a hut in the backdrop where students got clicked in traditional village outfits.

As the journey was catching the end, an enthralling performance awaited the students. Eternal Bliss showed up with motivational and energizing tracks that had the students tapping and singing to their tunes. Thereafter, a brief yet informative session was held by a SAM volunteer, bringing into light the objectives of SAM and the vision of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji behind this mega youth drive.

At the end, SAM representative extended the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the SAM family, expressing gratitude to the school management for such a successful joint effort.

The program concluded with a stage testimony by one of the teachers, Ms. Lekha. Extolling the efforts put in by SAM, she said, “It was pleasurable time at the program and I thank the Team SAM for coming up with this educational event for our students. SAM has a good approach to the youth. I am amazed to observe the format they use to target the young audience. A great fusion of fun and learning can be seen here and it was an outstanding attempt to connect youth to their ancient culture. I am sure that today our students are not just taking memories back home but also some learnings for their lifetime. I hope we would have more such collaborations in the future.”
