‘Little knowledge is very dangerous’

BODH taught students the way to ‘feel high in life’ without drugs at NTPC

The above proverb doesn’t seem so effectual, when one doesn’t apply it in life in general. But, it shows its gravity of significance in lives of those students; who are not fully informed of the ‘bads’ of Drug abuse’, which eventually pushes them permanently into the queue of drug addicts. They though enter into this menace, which is the 3rd largest problem in the world, mainly due to peer pressure, to have the feeling of high, to combat stress, to get away from boredom and so many in the list, are negligently unaware of the fact that it will persist with them lifelong without fail.

So, providing only the knowledge of repercussions of drug abuse is not what we aim, but giving them the solution to remain prevented from it, is the basic motive of our ‘Say No’ Advocacy workshop.

BODH taught students the way to ‘feel high in life’ without drugs at NTPC

On 16th October, Bodh - the drug abuse eradication program under the sacred guidance of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, the head & founder, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, has organized a one day workshop at NTPC with more than 650 students hailing from Delhi Public School (DPS), Kendriya Vidyalay(KV), D. A. V. School and Saraswati Shishu Sansar, in order to discuss and demonstrate the ways of saying no to drugs when proposed. Various activities depicting many real time situations were given to the students to enact upon, so as to get a realistic and feasible way of how to identify the bad and speak about it.  Almost 17 teachers from different schools were given special guidance on inclusion of awareness sessions in their curriculum on drug abuse during the classes through storytelling, small discussions, instance sharing etc.  Students were so motivated that when Sadhvi Shitabha Bharti Ji, disciple of His Holiness, delivered the crux of the workshop, then a girl from Delhi Public School stood and spoke out loudly ‘SAY NO TO DRUGS’.  This is how the aim of the workshop was realized.

Awareness on any subject remains incomplete till the time you realize the bad and the good from within, which are both sides to the subject. But, this can be done only when you reach at your soul level. Suppose, in a School Set up, problems at the level of teachers can only be resolved by pursuing the management and not the Students. Similarly, Addiction is an altercation of mind, it is a mental disease, which can only be eradicated when you climb the level above your mind that is the level of your soul", explained Sadhvi Ji.

Officials from NTPC, the second largest electricity producing unit in India, graced the session with their supportive presence. Mr. DK Sood, Executing Director, NTPCMr. RK Jain, General Manager, NTPC, Mr. Gauri Shankar, General Manager, NTPC, Mr. PN Singh, CMO, NTPC, Mr. Sunil Kumar Assistant General Manager, NTPC, Mr. Arvind Kumar Assistant General Manager, NTPC, Mr. AK Dang Assistant General Manager, NTPC and Mr. Manav Bandhu Manager, NTPC, MR. J.P Sharma (Rtd. Assistant General Manager, NTPC attended the workshop and motivated the students with their presence throughout the program.
