Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan [DJJS], under its social initiative, Bodh- the Drug Abuse Eradication Program, organized a session of quiz, followed by an empowering lecture, in the assembly of Kendriya Vidhyalaya School at Pauri, Garhwal in Uttarakhand, India. BODH executes its awareness generation campaigns through modes of theater, street plays, lecture series, workshops, conferences, discussion, youth meetings, quizzes, lane meetings, women meetings etc, at pan India level. The session was conducted on the 26th of June, 2014, in order to observe International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, as this day is commemorated every year against drug abuse and its illegal trafficking. First-of-all, the session began with an introductory note of DJJS, including its spiritual insights and social initiatives, in an entirety, before 900 -1000 students, teachers and other working staffs in the school. On the other hand, the objective of BODH behind this attempt is to sensitize this vulnerable group of students, whose chance of getting clutched into the grip of target, with regard to the abuse of drug in the first hand, is very high. Subsequently, we organized a quiz namely, “Bujho To Jaane” comprising of the subjects, such as, myths and stereotypes about the consumption of drugs, lack of awareness about drug abuse, how to discourage the first attempt of drug abuse, what is addiction, when use become abuse etc. Lastly but not the least, Sadvi Gita Bharti ji, disciple of Shri AshutoshMaharaj ji, head and founder of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), concluded the session by delivering an enlightening lecture titled, “Prevention of Drug Abuse, in the First Place itself”, amongst the students. The enlightening lecture dealt with the concerns, as in, inculcating strength for the firm refusal of first abuse, boosting of will power in nurturing the faculty of discrimination, which helps in demarcating between write and wrong. Sadhvi ji, an expert on the subject, also emphasized upon the fact that since most of the times, we lack strong will power; we don’t get to stand for the right, though we know what is write or what is wrong. ‘When an individual realizes the self within, by attaining the true way of ‘Dhyan’ based on knowledge of the self, one’s will power strengthens and wisdom sharpens, added Sadhvi ji. With which, one can take right decisions at all times and can always stand for the right.
