On 20 April 2018, Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra was invited to the “LPG Panchayat” to promote Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna. This scheme provides free LPG connection with financial assistance of Rs. 1600/- per connection to an adult woman member of BPL family identified through Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.

Celebrating Women Empowerment through Safe Cooking

It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May 2016 from Balia, Uttar Pradesh. PMUY is the first welfare scheme being implemented by the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The tagline of the scheme is Swachh Indhan, Behtar Jeevan. It seeks to empower women and protect their health by shifting them from traditional cooking based on unclean cooking fuels or fossil fuels to clean cooking gas.

Manthan SVK’s teacher representatives: - Ekta and Chetna from the Shakurpur centre, New Delhi were honored as the mentors for the day. They explained to the gathering the benefits of using LPG over fuel wood. They also spread awareness about Manthan SVK initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan and its Adult Literacy program which is bringing immense transformation in the lives of underprivileged women and their community at large.

The program also saw many renowned guests: Mr. Tilak Ram, ex-counselor, BJP; Mr. M. P. S. Chauhan, an educationist; and Dr. Pawan Garg.

The details of the day’s program were also sent to Prime Minister's office by Bharat Gas Agency, shakurpur, New Delhi.
