Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (“DJJS”) celebrated Chhath Puja Mahotsav with great devotion and spiritual fervour at its Nurmahal Ashram, Punjab, on October 27th and 28th, 2025. The celebration took place under the divine grace and guidance of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Founder and Head, DJJS). Chhath Puja, one of the most ancient and spiritually profound festivals, epitomises purity and discipline in life. The festival venerates the Sun God, the eternal source of energy and vitality sustaining all life on Earth.

At Divya Sarovar, devotees offered Sandhya Arghya (evening offering) to the setting Sun on 27th October 2025. The next morning, on 28th October 2025, they offered Usha Arghya (morning offering) to the rising Sun.
On the evening of October 27, 2025, a devotional concert was held at Divya Darshan Bhawan, Nurmahal. The atmosphere resonated with the vibrations of devotion and gratitude. Sadhvi Garima Bharti Ji was the orator of the evening, along with other DJJS representatives. The soul-stirring devotional music created a divine and spellbinding ambiance, uplifting everyone present.

In the enlightening discourse, Sadhvi Ji beautifully explained the deep message behind celebrating Chhath Puja. She elaborated that beyond the rituals and traditions lies a deeper spiritual truth: the journey from outer worship to inner realisation.
Sadhvi ji explained the reason behind Usha Arghya (morning offering) to the rising Sun and Sandhya Arghya (evening offering) to the setting sun, as told by Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. The Sun rising in the sky symbolises new life, new hope, and new beginning. As soon as the first ray of the Sun touches the Earth, nature becomes alive and joyful. By offering arghya to the rising Sun, we express our respect for a new day and a new start in life.
However, the setting Sun also gives us a message- it represents the glorious evening of life.
Sadhvi ji told that once, an inquisitive asked Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, ‘Maharaj Ji, how should one’s death be?’ To answer this, Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji said, ‘Death should be like the setting Sun. When saints leave their bodies, their faces glow and shine with peace and divinity. But when an ordinary person dies, their face becomes dark and lifeless. Therefore, our final moments should also be as glorious as the sunset.’
Now, how can we remain radiant even in our final moments?
That inspiration too comes from the setting Sun. The Sun, glowing beautifully in the evening sky, teaches us that it has followed all the laws of nature throughout the day. It fulfilled its duties, spread light to the world, stayed bright itself, and worked continuously for the welfare of all. That is why it can set with a proud and peaceful smile.
In the same way, we must live our lives by following divine and natural laws, completing our responsibilities sincerely. While fulfilling our worldly duties, we should seek refuge of an enlightened Spiritual Guru, who can bestow upon us the eternal science of Brahm Gyan and thus make us accomplish our spiritual goal as well. Then, at the end of life, we will not fade away in weakness or sadness. Instead, our faces will shine with the glow of contentment and inner peace.
In the Rigveda, our sages prayed to God:
“O Sun God, just as your sunrise and sunset, both are beautiful and gentle, may my coming to this world and departure from this world — be filled with that same sweetness and grace.”
In this manner, imbibing such deep inspirations, the program became memorable for one and all.
