Under the divine mentorship of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Founder & Head, DJJS), Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan yet again celebrated “Divya Diwali” with great zeal at Nurmahal Ashram, Punjab on 12th November, 2023. It was a unique socio-cultural and spiritual event rooted in the rich cultural values and environmental ethics of Bharat. Continuing the DJJS annual practice of eco-friendly Diwali celebration, under the banner of its Nature Conservation Program – Sanrakshan, the ashram premises were decorated with rangoli made of natural colors extracted from flowers and recycled items. The Ashram was lit with 1.25 lac earthen lamps, which truly represented the essence of the pious day – DEEP-AWALI (row of lights).
The program commenced with ancient tradition of hawan-yajna, which created a pious and serene ambience, followed by rudri-path (Vedic chanting) by the Brahm Gyani disciples of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. This was followed by a spiritually enriching session of devotional songs and thought-provoking spiritual discourses.
Diwali is a festival that celebrates the home coming of Lord Ram wherein the residents of Ayodhya lightened earthen lamps. However today, Diwali has become synonym of noise, crackers and air pollution. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of many states of our country is getting worst day-by-day and is at its peak around Diwali festival. The worsening air quality has triggered measures from the authorities as the raising AQI levels can cause respiratory problems and other health hazards. Bearing the current scenario in mind, DJJS Green Diwali celebration aims at steering masses towards sustainable celebrations that serve to rebuild human-nature relationship and be joyous for each and every entity.
A band of selfless young disciples of Gurudev also presented an awe-inspiring play - RIGHT ACTION MAN, based on life of Lord Ram. The play put forth the purpose of His Divine advent as well as spiritual significance of His Divine sports. Further, the Preacher disciples of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji discussed various aspects of Shri Ram’s life – How he proved to be a perfect- son, brother, husband, father and king; how he established Ram Rajya – the ideal State. They underscored the importance of spirituality as the foundation stone of Ram Rajya. For a change to be wholesome and non-relapsing, it has to come from within, which is possible only through self-awakening through Brahm Gyan – The practical spiritual science of God Realisation. DJJS founded and headed by Perfect Spiritual Master of the time – Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, is furthering the same Divine Knowledge through which millions of seekers across the globe have seen God within and are heading the path of perfection.
The other important highlights of the program were - the dance performances and “Jaago - traditional Punjabi dance performance” by selfless disciples of Gurudev, which entranced the audience. The event concluded with Mangal Aarti.
Thousands of people participated in the program with full enthusiasm. Many dignitaries also marked their appearance. The attendees appreciated DJJS’ efforts of using environment friendly ways of Diwali celebration and also explaining its deep hidden spiritual significance relevant in current times.
