To connect the people with the divine ideologies of Shri Krishna and demystify prevalent myths around His Divine plays, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) organised its annual event Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav 2023 on 6th and 7th September, 2023 at DDA Ground, Sector-10, Dwarka, New Delhi. Based on the theme Sambhavami Yuge Yuge – Realise the Krishna Consciousness within, the mega event witnessed a huge footfall of thousands of devotees. Various renowned personalities, namely Smt. The two-day celebration commenced with chanting of Vedic Mantras from Shukla Yajurved Rudrashtadhyayi by hundreds of Brahmgyani Ved-Pathis, disciples of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
Unlike the usual ways of celebrating Shri Krishna Janmashtami, DJJS Janmashtami presents a unique package of enthralling Musical skits based on Shri Krishna Leelas complemented with enlightening spiritual discourses by preacher disciples of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, decoding the timeless wisdom imbued in these Divine plays. An exclusive feature of the event, this year, was the digital launch of VEDANTIC G20 MODEL of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakama” by orange clad sanyasis of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan along with vibrant youth brigade, amidst fluttering saffron flags and tricolors and echoes of Shri Krishna’s chants. This launch was also displayed on a fully digital stage made up of 3000 square feet LED screen and 10 huge size LEDs installed in the pandal. In this model, time-tested wisdom from the Vedas was proposed to meet the key objectives mentioned in the G20 agenda, such as environment conservation, women empowerment, promotion and protection of Indian culture and heritage, etc.
The stimulating sagas from the life of Jagatguru Shri Krishna were revealed in the form of 15 dance ballets and theatrics at this two-day event. The main attractions of the programme were- Enthralling Dance Ballets on ‘Slaying of Tyrant Ruler- Kansa by Lord Krishna’, ‘Ram Katha as recited by 16th Century
Krishna’ devotee Saint Surdas’, ‘Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's Life Saga’, ‘Devotion of Social Reformer Meera Bai’, ‘Joyful Birth Celebration of Lord Krishna’ etc. Sadhvi Tapeshwari Bharti, DJJS’ spokesperson informed the media that, ‘the exquisite performances were staged by 250+ performers, who are non-paid, selfless and spiritually awakened disciples of Divya Guru Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Founder & Head, DJJS).
They come from various schools, colleges, institutions, corporate houses, etc. and are selected through large scale auditions, on the basis of minute details of expressions, body language, built-up & age of the character.’ ‘Also, the performances are interspersed with inter-cultural dance forms, such as– Odissi, Chhau, Kathak, Fusion dance, Bengali dance, Rajasthani dance, etc. And not to miss out the fact about the sanctity of the stage: the performers sit in meditation behind the curtain before performance & real couples are chosen for corresponding roles.
Conceptualisation, lyrics-writing & composition of the songs are purely in-house effort of DJJS. As per Swami Hitendranand, Music Director of this program and DJJS, ‘Unlike the music generally being composed at 440 Hz as per British standards, DJJS tunes all its musical instruments at 432 Hz, as marked by the deep sciences of music of ancient India. This is not just in sync with nature, but also produces vibrations which go hand-in-hand with the Navrasas of human emotions, extending superb mental health benefits to the listeners.’
Further, eye-opening, scientific & pragmatic disquisitions were delivered by 20-25 full-time dedicated, highly qualified & versatile Sadhvis & Swamis of DJJS decoding the contemporary insights from Shri Krishna’s life, they will present unbeatable facts & logics to break the myths and misconceptions around Shri Krishna Leelas and uphold the sanctity of Sanatana Dharma.
The eloquent speakers of DJJS, underscored that Shri Krishna is not just to be believed and have blind-faith in rather God is to be SEEN, directly perceived and realised within as Arjuna perceived the Vishwaroop of Shri Krishna within, in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Explicating the Eternal Science of God Realisation – Brahm Gyan, a clarion call was given to the spiritual seekers to get initiated into Brahmgyan and realise the Krishna Consciousness within.
On Day 1 of the event, adhering to the core agenda of G20 summit, ‘Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE), an exclusive session was dedicated to sensitize thousands of viewers towards Environment Conservation. Amidst elevated mashaals, a massive pledge ceremony was organised, where in the audience stood up and vowed for making requisite life-style changes.
The mega-event was well managed by around 1500+ fully trained volunteers & security personnel deployed across the Pandal. Over 350 feet area was dedicated for Jhankis (various tableaus depicting life incidents of Lord Krishna). This time, the theme of Jhankis was: ‘Get the chance to participate in Krishna Leelas!’ The jhanki section allowed the visitors to culturally participate in the divine sports of Lord Krishna. Usually, a person witnessing the tableaus remains as a distant observer. However, these jhankis offered an immersive experience to the visitors by involving them in the divine plays of the Lord.
The program also witnessed a special address by Smt. Smriti Irani Ji, Union Cabinet Minister for Ministry of WCD & MOMA on Day 1 of the event.
The 2-day Gokulashtami celebration culminated with Lord Krishna’s arti and enthralling celebration of His birth. The mega-event was streamed Live on official DJJS YouTube channel on 7th September 2023, 7PM onwards. The live webcast garnered over 1.5lakh views in the first 24 hours.
