Morality is set of principles or standards that govern our behaviour. Although one may agree or not, but each person adheres to some kind of moral doctrine about what is right and what is wrong, good or evil. However, if observed today the mankind is going through a crisis. Man is quickly reducing to the status of machine with tremendous emphasis being laid on scientific and mechanical ways of life.
The fundamental principles of civilization are being ignored. Self-centeredness has taken up the front stage. Therefore, conflicts of ideas, manners and habits are pervading the atmosphere. Outright rejection and disregard for everything old is the fashion of the day. So what has led to this kind of situation prevailing? What kind of knowledge is being rendered at home and education institutions? But the question is how morality can be imbibed in an individual who has been deprived of such learnings at school, and even at home level to bring about change in behaviour?
Such were the questions raised as well as answered at special session conducted on Moral Values at Brilliant College of Education, Fazilka, Punjab on 15th Nov, 2017 by disciples of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, Head and Founder of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, a dynamic social- spiritual organisation, working tirelessly to transmit the rich resources of ancient divine knowledge (Brahm Gyan) to millions across the world and guide them in the direction of righteousness through various social and spiritual programs.
As a human being, we put a lot of effort and dedicate all our thoughts and energy to realize goals towards economic upliftment, happiness, fame & name to achieve sumptuous living. All these efforts are guided by the principles limited to self. The society on a whole needs to understand how everyone is interconnected in order to rise above one’s self, region, religion, community and work for the whole of mankind and nature. Beyond, one’s schooling and education at home, if institutions inspire people to take up tasks benefitting everyone then their vision of a self can expand. A being has to inculcate virtues like honesty not the success at any cost, integrity and not the divisiveness, hard work and not the shortcuts, compassion and not the indifference, kindness not the revenge, in order to build upon its character which should help one survive and thrive in any testing conditions. However, such divine values can be imbibed at soul level and are carried forward only when one connects with the divine by the grace of a perfect master, he/she expands their vision and see the whole of creation as one. This change then forms the basis of formation of a society which lives in harmony with nature, peers and people from across the globe.
