DJVM conducted a one-day workshop of Fundamentals of Shooting for volunteers

Divya Jyoti Ved Mandir, a research-based educational organization is working across the country to spread the ancient knowledge of the Vedas, Upanishads, Shrimad Bhagwat Gita and other ancient Sanskrit scriptures.

Ever geared towards the betterment of its students and volunteers, DJVM organized a one-day “Tech कलाworkshop for its volunteers on the topic “Fundamentals of Shooting”. The volunteers and alumni of Manthan-SVK, an initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, also participated in this workshop. The participants were taught how to handle the tools, equipment and different devices used during a video or photo shoot. Since DJVM always believes in practical knowledge more than the theoretical one, it involved each volunteer in this workshop where everyone not just saw but got involved and did hands-on during the entire process to understand the variety of shooting equipment and their handling.

DJVM conducted a one-day workshop of Fundamentals of Shooting for volunteers

The session began with providing a bird’s eye view of the whole workshop by Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji, Preacher DJJS. The whole workshop was divided into three sessions wherein the volunteers were taught the unpacking, installation, and repacking of various assets of lighting, camera, and sound equipment.

In the first session, the volunteers were made aware of the basics of lighting, that is, handling electrical appliances during a video shoot, and supplying power to devices of different voltages, etc. During the entire session, the volunteers came forward and installed a variety of lights such as soft box, on-camera lights, ring lights, and porta lights. The next session taught the unpacking, handling, and installing of digital cameras, tripods, green screens, sound cards, etc.

The entire workshop created a sense of belongingness among the volunteers of DJVM as they learned about the different pieces of shoot equipment often used during video/photoshoots. The volunteers requested such workshops to be conducted on a regular basis to groom their skills.
