To disseminate the timeless wisdom of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and to promote spiritual and cultural heritage among the Indian diaspora and the local community in Canada, the Toronto branch of ‘Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’ successfully organized Gita Mahotsav 2025 on 6th December 2025 in Toronto, Canada, with an inspiring theme ‘A Warrior’s Awakening.’ The event was a sacred celebration of the eternal pronouncements of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, presented in a manner that was both engaging and deeply meaningful for audiences of all age groups.
With the divine grace of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Founder & Head, DJJS), the Mahotsav witnessed an overwhelming response from the volunteers and members of the local community. The sacred teachings of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita were showcased through a thoughtfully curated blend of Mahabharata-based theatrical presentation, classical and contemporary dance performances, soul-stirring bhajans, and an enlightening discourse.
DJJS representative, Swami Sachidanand Ji in his spiritual discourse highlighted that the theme ‘A Warrior’s Awakening’ reflected the reality that every individual is a warrior on the battlefield of life, facing challenges such as fear, confusion, attachment, and ego. Just as Arjuna stood confused and weak on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, modern individuals often find themselves struggling with doubt and indecision. The event beautifully conveyed that more than the external conquest, true victory lies in the awakening of inner wisdom through Divine Knowledge.
DJJS representative emphasized the core teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, particularly the importance of ‘Brahm Gyan’ as imparted by a True Guru. He explained how the Gita’s wisdom is incomplete without experiential knowledge and how a living Guru plays a vital role in guiding seekers toward true spiritual awakening. He concluded that the inner guidance of a true Guru is essential to navigate life’s battles with clarity and courage.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Kuljeet Singh Arora, Consul (OCI, SC & Attestation), Consulate General of India, Toronto, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of DJJS Toronto in promoting Indian spiritual heritage and values on an international platform. He commended the organization for presenting the teachings of the Gita in a creative and meaningful way, especially for the younger generation growing up abroad.
In essence, ‘Gita Mahotsav 2025’ was not just an event but a transformative experience that awakened the warrior within each participant. By blending spirituality with art and philosophy, the program reinforced the timeless relevance of the Bhagavad Gita and its guidance for leading a balanced, purposeful, and enlightened life.
