The 73rd Indian Independence Day was celebrated with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm across the country and abroad on 15th August 2019. One of such celebrations was also carried out at Consulate General of Milan (Italy) where Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan was also invited to commemorate the 73rd Indian Independence Day.
The event was a comprehensive blend of vocal and instrumental music. DJJS volunteers sang the patriotic song “Vande Matram’ and other melodious hymns on the tunes of the classical instrument ‘Tabla’ which captivated the audience and kept their patriotic and emotional quotient high during the entire program.
His Excellency, Consulate General Dr. George Binoy read ‘The President of India’s message’ for the people of nation and unfurled the National flag. The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries and representatives from the various political and religious communities, including Mr. Satwinder Miani (Editor in Chief, Europe Times Newspaper) and Mr. Jagwant Singh (President, SAD Italy). DJJS representative Swami Satmitranand Ji, who was the special invitee to the event, acquainted Dr. George Binoy and the Consular, Mr. Rajesh Bhatia about the Mission and Vision of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. He discussed various accolades achieved by DJJS in the area of social and spiritual projects over the last few years.
Swami Ji also presented a copy of “Mahayogi ka Maharahasya” Book to His Excellency Dr. George Binoy. While addressing the audience, Swami Ji asserted that the real freedom of an individual comes from within. Self-realization and Self-surrender to the divine, absolute and sincere, at all occasions and under all circumstances at the unconscious level is extremely pertinent for the independence in true terms.
Though we are independent in physical terms but mind is still slave of vices like anger, greed, hatred, money etc. To make ourselves free of materialistic pleasures and associated vices, inner transformation is a must. Swami Ji urged everyone to seek this transformation, this freedom. Instilled with patriotic zeal, the program was greatly appreciated by one and all.
