Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan celebrated ‘Prakash Utsav’ in the premises of District Jail, in Sirsa (Haryana), on 25th November, 2015, in collaboration with Jail Authorities and Rotary Club, Sirsa, on special request by the Jail Authorities.

Swami Avinash Ji (Representative DJJS), Sh. B.S Pannu(District Governor), Sh. Lakshvinder Singh(Chairman, Rotary Club, Sirsa), Mrs. Silakshi Bhardwaj(Superintendent) and Sh. Amit Bhadu(Dy. Superintendent Sirsa), graced the event with their august presence.

The program was a beautiful amalgamation of hymns, kirtans and an insightful speech by Swami Avinash Ji, on the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Swami ji, through a thought-provoking discussion spurred spiritual quest among the attendees.

The highlight of the event was, reading of ‘Guru Granth Sahib’, the sacred text. Swami Ji beautifully translated and explained its meaning. 750 men prisoners and 65 women prisoners were part of the celebration. All of them were deeply influenced by the session. Many of them had one to one interactions with Swami Ji, after the session.

Sh. Lakshvinder Singh (Chairman, Rotary Club, Sirsa) presented a memento to Swami Avinash Ji, as a token of honor and appreciation for the organization’s efforts. 

The authorities extended a cordial invitation to DJJS for holding regular spiritual sessions in the jail premises for correcting and reforming the prisoners.
