Manthan SVK, a social initiative of DJJS, in collaboration with the ROTARACT Club of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Delhi University and Singer India Ltd. inaugurated “Prashikshan” - The Sewing and stitching Center at Baba Faridpuri Colony, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi on 16, April 2016. Along with providing quality education to the poor and deprived children, now we are making unemployed, deprived, financially recessive women get skilled to get stand on their feet. For our respected Prime Minister's initiative of Skill India Program, this is the significant contribution of DJJS Manthan Program.

Like DJJS’s all socio-spiritual initiatives, Prashikshan project of Manthan SVK too got an overwhelming response by the community members and social workers. The mothers and sisters of the students of Manthan Patel Nagar centre excitedly took admissions to get prashikshit/skilled in sewing and stitching as this will add to the income of their family and make them self-dependent. The eminent guests at the event Mr. Vivek jain- District Director Administration Rotary 3011, Mr. Prashant Sehgal- President, Rotary Club New Delhi, Mr. Vir Philip- Secretary, RCND, Mr. Saurabh Gupta -Rotarian RCND, Ms. Alpana Sarna- Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs, Singer India Ltd., Ms. Ishita Sood- Rotaractor, District Secretary 3011, Rotaractor Pavitra Amrit: Director vocational services (DAC), Rotaractor Dilnaman Singh- District Literacy Committee Chair, Mr Manoj Kumar Jindal- Social Worker, Shastri Nagar and Mrs. Poornima Vidyarthi, Counsellor, Patel Nagar, graced the occasion by their presence. Rotaractor Ms. Dipankara along with the president Mr Dhruv and secretary Ms. Akriti disported a documentary describing the journey of Manthan’s – Prashikshan and how with the joint efforts and hard work a factory outlet was converted into a beautiful working sewing Center. The Inaugural ceremony began with lamp lighting followed by the beautiful dance presentation by Manthanites, Gurgaon center on ‘Saraswati Vandana’. A street play highlighting social issue of gender biasing prevalent in the slums was presented by the volunteers of DJJS along with a stunning dance performance on ‘Ye Honsla Kaise Jhuke’ presenting a boost in the confidence and energy women poses.

Singer India Ltd. provided 15 sewing machines of high quality at 50% off to the center. Deeply touched by the social initiative taken up by DJJS and Rotaractors, SGGSCC, Ms. Alpana Sarna, Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs, Singer India Ltd. declared with joy and emotions that she will provide free sewing machine to two toppers of the first batch of Manthan’s Prashikshan center after 3 months of their course completion. Sadhvi Deepa Bharti, Program Coordinator Manthan SVK, DJJS alongside all distinguished guests inaugurated the center by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Till now, 32 women have took pledge to become self-dependent by getting enrolled with the center. Here we are providing 3 months Basic course and 6 months Diploma course, which will be certified by Singer India Ltd. DJJS will also get linked with nearby Fabric Manufacturers and industries to help the women get employment and make the project sustainable in all respects. In the final note, Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji expressed the great philosophy of the founder and head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj ji behind all socio-spiritual initiatives undertaken by the Sasnthan, thereafter expressing gratitude to all Rotaractors, volunteers, supporters and guests for their motivation and support.
