Monthly Spiritual Congregation: Guiding the Disciples with the Art of Spiritual Discipline at Divya Dham Ashram, New Delhi

Bhakti is a broad concept with room for varied interpretations and perspectives. In general, it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than us, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life. As such, it is a universal human experience, something that touches us all. Bhakti leads to peace of mind, a quiet, calm mental state that is not subject to constant anxiety when pressures build.

In a world full of stress, strain, rush and restlessness abound, peace of mind is of paramount importance. It is a treasure that everyone desires, but only very few know how to gain it, and even fewer really do something to get it. With all the advancement of science, no remedy has yet been found for lack of inner peace. Often, even when being in good financial condition and health, people have no peace of mind, which goes to prove that peace of mind does not depend on external conditions or on scientific and technical progress. The solution has to come from within, not through external means. The wise ones reveal, “The outer world is the reflection of the inner world”. Unless we establish peace within we cannot establish it in the outer world. The scriptures which are a great treasure for all of us enlighten us that it is only through bhakti we can attain peace of mind and the art of bhakti can be learned from a true Spiritual Mentor. Thousands of devotees have been enlightened from within and learnt the art of bhakti with the benign grace of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji (Founder and Head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan) are now awakened souls, determined to work for the goal of “World Peace”.

To keep this light glowing within the hearts of the masses, DJJS organizes spiritual congregation every month at Divya Dham Ashram, New Delhi. Devotees also look forward to the monthly gathering to get surcharged in their inner world to succeed in personal, professional, and spiritual life. Varying in age groups and creeds, devotees come from far and near to attend the discourses each month. This month the peaceful congregation was held on 4th December, 2016.

The programme commenced with chanting of shlokas from Rigveda by the disciples of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. Thereafter, the preacher disciples sung a number of motivational and devotional songs. The musical extravaganza of the devotional songs by the members of the music team, in praise of the Lord, touched the core of hearts of the people who heard them with rapt attention.

The series of spiritual discourses addressed by the preachers of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji contained various examples from scriptures in form of stories and shlokas which stimulated the disciples towards the path of bhakti. The invaluable experiences shared by the Preachers would help to bring constructive changes in the lives of masses. The program once again acted as the much needed booster dose so that devotees can tread the path of bhakti with added vigor. Bhandara (Community Lunch) was part of the spiritual event and a vast number of people contributed their selfless service. They sat together and relished the prasada and it was a unique feeling to be a part of the large DJJS family.
