Approximately 200 students along with 10 teachers of Vishnu Purv Madhyamik Vidya Mandir Gorakhpur, U. P have joined ‘Nirnay’ – a drive to establish Drug Free U.P under Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, a socio spiritual organization established and run by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji on the 26th of January against Drug abuse this year. On the occasion of 66th republic day, those children upon whose shoulders the hope of nation building rests have become the beneficiaries of the initiative when they participated in ‘Say No’ workshop held at village Deoria in Uttar Pradesh.
Drug addiction is a problem that has been increasing immensely among our society dwellers today hindering and restraining many to accomplish goals or dreams of life. It not only hurts one physically but also flogs an abuser and his surroundings socially, mentally and physiologically. As a result, innumerable loss created by it reaches the maximum when lakhs of families witness cases of domestic violence, divorces, indulgence in crime and terrorism.
Through some participatory and demonstrative activities like ‘identify the good and the Bad’, ‘Holistic Hygiene’, ‘Look Around Yourself’, Mr. Brijesh, disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji and an expert on the subject, further discussed upon how an ability to distinguish between right and wrong can be developed by practicing the techniques suggested by the import of such activities to analyze and access the situation holistically and not getting victimized by it.
Lastly, teachers along with students and school management got benefitted from the workshop in terms of strengthening of knowledge and various other psychological aspects relating to child’s psychology towards drug abuse. All appreciated the program and came forward to share their feedbacks with Bodh representatives.
