In the stressful life of today, human being is searching for the moment of peace and calmness. Everyone is waiting for the dawn of a new era where only peace and tranquility is there; there is no place of hatred, violence and discrimination where everyone can reside with peace and dignity. A glimpse of such a morning was evident in the form of ‘Prabhat Pheri’ which literally means the ‘morning rounds’ where people walk for a purpose spreading message of love and peace. It is a traditional lost in the realm of modernization. Long time ago, people from the villages would get up early in the wee hours of the morning and take rounds of the village chanting and singing ‘bhajans’ and playing ethnic instruments. It was believed that this ritual invoked the good spirits, and would chase the evil spirits of the night, further welcoming the morning with good vibrations.
To resurrect the tradition and to remind us of our valuable rituals, such a pious morning was witnessed in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand marking the beginning of a seven day event from Jan. 31 to Feb. 6, 2016. The ‘Prabhat Pheri’ covered many parts of city before culminating at the DJJS venue.
Many high profile dignitaries were part of the morning event which includes Raj Kumar Thukral (MLA Rudrapur), D.R.Khurana (Retd. Commandent CRPF), Y.K.Sharma (President Of Divya Shakti Mandir Alliance Colony Rudrapur), Hari Chand Midda (Owner Of Rudra Hotel Rudrapur), Sh.P.D.Agarwal (President Of Rice Mill Welfare Association) and Mr. Rajendra Chugh (President Of Alliance Welfare Society).
It is said that it is never too late to learn and adopt good habits. ‘Prabhat Pheri’ is one such tradition which not only quenches our spiritual thirst but also keep us physically and mentally fit. The people appreciated the efforts of DJJS and vouched to be part of more of these morning events in future.
