The grace of the Satguru was bestowed upon once again on the land of Gurdaspur, Punjab where a seven day event of Shri Shiv Katha took place from August 2 to August 6, 2016. His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji continues to bless the masses with Lord’s sagas and the hidden practicality behind them. Lord Shiva Katha was hosted by the Pathankot branch of the organization, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, working under the benign guidance of His Holiness. The organization holds such gatherings where the audience are not only given an insight into the scriptures but also granted the ultimate practical experience of them through Brahm Gyan. Sadhvi Viveka Bharti Ji, a practitioner of Brahm Gyan and a disciple of His Holiness, was the orator of the saga.
Sadhvi Ji spoke to the audience about all that Lord Shiva teaches a human being. She explained that Lord of the destruction which is a harbinger of new beginning, brings forth the eternal freedom by always indicating of going deep within. His meditative posture is indicative of being connected to the Lord. His third eye indicates the inability of the two material eyes and the ability of the awakened third eye – to experience the Lord Himself. His garb depicts the short-lived physical body we tend to cherish so much and the ashes on His body indicate the destiny of this physical body – the eventually perishing body. In each gesture, ornament, and each verse, Lord of the Lords Mahadeva indicates to connect with the ultimate source – the true form of Lord within.
Devotees were drenched in Lord’s eternal grace on this pious occasion. People joined the katha in large numbers from near and far and took advantage of the courteous juncture. The attendees also gained insight into various projects of the organization such as Bodh – the drug de-addiction and eradication program. Recognized by UNESCO, this project of the organization has had tremendous success in eradicating drugs in numerous people’s lives.
Contrary to the misinterpretation of Lord Shiva’s pious stature as one associated with drugs, Sadhvi Ji explained to the audience that due to the lack of knowledge and guidance the society has portrayed such holy figures in a wrong light. She further explained that our scriptures and the perfect masters time and time again eulogize the correct and the divine meaning behind everything, thereby showing the correct path of spirituality and awaken the divinity within.
