God Shiv in the Hindu tradition is known as the lord of destruction. He is the destroyer of the vices of human nature, but not without a reason. He destroys only those traits of the human nature that which stop being of any purpose. Destruction does not only refer to the annihilation of something; it also means a departure from something that has ceased to nurture. Lord Shiv, then, does not only usher in a new life but transformation as well. A transformation that exhibits the emergence of a stronger inner self.
Sadhvi Jayanti Bharti Ji with the blessings of H H Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, founder and head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) brought the people of Nurpur, District Kangra of Himachal Pradesh a step closer to these themes pertaining to Lord Shiv through the narration of the Shiv Katha from 23rd to 27th October 2017 at the same place. Sadhvi Ji was accompanied by a team of trained musician preacher disciples of DJJS who helped Sadhvi Ji accentuate the liveliness of the Katha with the singing of numerous melodious devotional songs.
Sadhvi Ji said that Lord Shiv brings the end of transformation in life through the regulation of the vital energy of the beings, i.e., breath (pran). In this way, he is the lord of the eternal energy of the universe. However, according to the Hindu scriptures, for a human being to attain Lord Shiv it is not necessary that the being ends life. Rather, one can merge with Lord Shiv while being alive. For this to happen, the being has to learn to listen to the rhythm of the eternal energy reverberating in her/his breath. Hence, focus on breath is the key to realizing Lord Shiv.
She mentioned that this can only be done with the help of an awakened spiritual Master in any era and the same is possible today since Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji is such a master in today’s times. The help of a spiritual Master in a being’s quest to attain Lord Shiv, explained Sadhvi Ji, is necessary because only one who has seen the path can lead. An ignorant, on the other hand, can prolong the journey leading to a feeling of frustration at wasted efforts. Sadhvi Ji, hence, urged the present seekers to be vigilant while searching for a true Master in the existing world. However, said Sadhvi Ji, in case the world does not yield the requisite result, the doors of DJJS are always open for every seeker who wish to begin/ continue her/his spiritual journey.
