The word "Rama" literally means one who is divinely blissful and who gives joy to others, and one in whom the sages rejoice. Lord Rama exemplified that perfect person who embodied the divine on Earth, and he taught us how to live our lives in accordance with dharma and divine principles. Lord Rama was the embodiment of compassion, gentleness, kindness, righteousness and integrity. Although he had all the power in the world, he still was peaceful and gentle. Through careful examination of his life, we learn how to be the perfect son, the perfect brother, the perfect husband and the perfect king. His reign in Ayodhya is referred to as Ramarajya, the epitome of perfect governance.
Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) conducted an event of Ram Katha from 6th August to 12th August 2019 at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The spiritual orator of the day and disciple of revered Gurudev, Sadhvi Shyama Bharti Ji explained the supreme philosophy of Lord Rama and further unfolded the life lessons from Ramayana. She elegantly depicted the incidences from the life of Lord Rama and went on emphasizing the importance and relevance in the contemporary times.
Sadhvi Ji explained innate meaning of incidences from Ramcharitmanas, familiarizing the audiences with the gifts of Devotion (Bhakti), Divine Knowledge (Brahm Gyan) and Salvation (Mukti). She encapsulated this by reciting a verse “bade bhag manus tan pava, sur durlabh sab granthin gava”- Only humans have been given the principle and power of wisdom and deed by the lord’s grace. The sole purpose of human life is to do the supreme work- attain bhakti, gyan and mukti from the cycles of life and death.
The program had every vein to serve as a motivator with the inspirational recitation, the wondrous examples and of course the devotional rhythmic bhajans that kept the audience clapping and dancing to the melodies. On the whole, the Katha proved to be an influential vehicle of acquainting the masses with the pressing need to transform them by attaining Brahm Gyan.
Sadhvi Ji reiterated that Lord Rama’s advent on earth was targeted at the restoration of the Truth. He was truly the embodiment of Righteousness. His Life and journey was in perfect accordance with and adherence to “Sanatana Dharma” – the Eternal Truth. Despite severe trials posed by circumstances time and again, He set forth an example of ideal living for the entire humankind. The audience had sense of gratitude and peace after the Katha and they felt themselves to be lucky enough to get this nectar of divinity.
