A wise philosopher-thinker said, “Pain is inescapable but suffering is optional,” suggesting that in spite of the presence of physical pain, one can conquer its impact and reduce the suffering one might go through in life. In metaphysical terms, that's called “mind over matter” which helps transcend physical pain by mental discipline and appropriate mind de-conditioning/training, as seen with meditation. In order to reveal the profound secrets inherent in meditation, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, under the divine guidance of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, organized a magnificent seven day program of narrating epic Shrimad Bhagwat Katha from June 2, 2019 to June 8, 2019 at Ropar, Punjab.

The devotes initiated the auspicious Katha program with recitation of Vedic mantras in Sanskrit, aiming to fill the environment with positivity for the masses and help wandering minds to fix into lotus feet of Lord. The devotional renditions amalgamated with various stories about the magnificent and divine playful acts of Lord Krishna engrossed everyone in the worship of the Lord.

Katha Orator, Sadhvi Bhagyashri Bharti Ji clarified that merely closing of physical eyes is not meditation. It is upon opening of the Divine Eye that the process of Meditation begins. Meditation is neither practicing certain yogic or breathing exercises, nor is it imagination and contemplation by mere closing of eyes, nor does it mean to gaze at some external object, or deep analysis through our limited intellects. Meditation is actually a communion of the Observer (us) with the Target (God).

Recently a research study shows that meditation actually brings physical changes in the brain. People who has been practicing meditation were found to have enhanced areas in their brain as compared to people who don't meditate. In a study done by UCLA's Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI) using MRI scans, the hippocampus and right frontal cortex of the brain (responsible for emotional control) were seen to be thickened and larger in individuals who meditated regularly for several years. Eileen Luders, the lead researcher said, “The observed anatomical differences might explain people why those who consistently meditate have a singular and exceptional ability, which enables them to nurture positive emotions, stay emotionally stable, and exhibit a superior behaviour.”

Sadhvi Ji further explained that when an aspirant is initiated into spiritual eternal science of Brahm Gyan by the Perfect Master, his Third Eye (the subtle power center situated on the forehead between the eyebrows) opens and he sees the wonderful Divine Light within. Thus begins the process of Meditation. First revelation, then meditation – that is the process. Hence, meditation is a one-to-one connection with the Supreme Consciousness, the source of positive energy, leading to the making of a vibrant ethical personality. A vibrant ethical personality, in turn, serves as a concrete building-block for the making of a healthy society. In this regard, Sadhvi Ji further stated, that Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, the founder-head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, and a Perfect Master of the present times, is disseminating the eternal technique of true meditation in the form of 'Brahm Gyan’ and doors are open for one and all to be part of divine mission of World Peace.
