Month long 'Swabhiman Campaign' to reinstate lost glory of womanhood, marking International Women's Day 2015, was flagged off at TOI Rahgiri, Dwarka, National Capital, New Delhi. For the same, a rigorous 'Awareness Drive' was conducted over the cause of elimination of Gender Based Violence (GBD) particularly sex selective abortions, on the TOI Rahgiri day event in Dwarka, an initiative of TOI.
Not just women & girls but sensitive guys too came forward to sensitize thousands towards women safety & respect for women. Also shook the rigid mindsets through thought provoking activities, group interactions, nukkad, drum beats, placards and bombardment of questions. To handover take home inspirations and resolutions to become change agents in combating Violence Against Women, they also distributed thousands of awareness docets. They were none other than young gender-just volunteers of Santulan.
The exclusive group of male volunteers awakened people from deep gender biased slumbers through an innovative street play at the TOI stage.
Swabhiman Campaign is a unique initiative of Santulan – the Gender Equality program of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan that would run till the end of March in number of states countrywide – New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
