Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan under the banner of its social initiative Manthan SVK initiated yet another Adult Literacy Center- SYAHI on 22nd August, 2016, in Suleman Nagar, Kirari, Prem Nagar, New Delhi, one of the urban slums of Delhi. The inaugural ceremonies witnessed amass enthusiasm among the women beneficiaries who still wish to get educated and be honored as a literate.  21 women have been enrolled in the first batch for the basic 3 months functional literacy course.

SYAHI – The Adult Literacy Center Inaugurated

The program was well started with lamp lighting ceremony followed by a prayer sung by the youth volunteers of the residing area. Thereafter, ribbon cutting ceremony was held to formally mark the center open by the eminent guests- Sh. Ram Avtar Bindal Ji, Sh. Praveen Garg Ji and preachers -Sadhvi Asha Bharti Ji and Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji. The volunteers presented an insightful skit depicting the importance and role of education in the life of women especially. Audience could relate the messages portrayed in the skit with their lives as well. The women beneficiaries were then honored with SYAHI i-cards and a stationary kit. Women were filled with tears of joy and were highly ecstatic to get this reward from the organization. They also shared their experiences with the audience and thereafter day 1 of their class was initiated with learning of numerical. To proceed further, a dance presentation was given by the volunteers followed by a documentary presentation. In the ending note, Sadhvi Deepa Bharti, Program coordinator of Manthan SVK, DJJS gave vote of thanks to all concerned. The surprising element of the program was that the women beneficiaries learnt recognition and writing of numbers 1 to 5 in their very first class as they confidently came on stage to demonstrate their number learning on the slates. With the divine blessings of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji, this noble effort was well applauded and appreciated by one and all.
