Aiming to revive Deepavali’s true essence-embarking on a journey of self-realization while promoting environmental conservation- ‘Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’ (DJJS), under its Nature Conservation Program, 'Sanrakshan,’ organized a ‘Green Diwali’ celebration on October 31, 2024, at Nurmahal Ashram, Punjab. The event was themed ‘Divya Diwali - Tamso Ma Jyotirgamaya’ (From darkness to divine light). Under the divine guidance of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, DJJS has been annually promoting a pollution-free, sustainable, and prosperous Diwali for over two decades-a celebration to strengthen the bond between humans and nature.

The celebration included a Hawan Yajna (fire ritual) accompanied by Vedic chanting that filled the atmosphere with spiritual vibrations. A central feature was the lighting of over 1 lakh earthen lamps crafted from natural clay, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and underscoring the commitment to eco-friendly celebration.

Drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Lord Rama-the symbol of righteousness, preacher-disciples of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji inspired the audience to imbibe the virtues and values he exemplified, encouraging them to witness the Ram Consciousness within. They urged all to seek inner light and dispel inner darkness through ‘Brahm Gyan,’ which imparts spiritual wisdom and self-discipline, reinforcing Diwali’s deeper values.

A key highlight of the event was a special exhibition presenting environmental wisdom from the Ramayana. The celebration also featured elaborate Rangoli art crafted with natural, edible colors. The vibrant hues symbolized nature’s beauty and bounty, blending tradition with eco-conscious practices. Awe-inspiring musical skits depicted scenes from the ‘Ramayana’ illustrating Shri Ram’s dedication to righteousness. Additionally, dance and music performances celebrated the divine joy of festivity, all presented by the selfless disciples of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.

Concluding with ‘Mangal Aarti’ and a group meditation session, attendees turned inward to foster inner peace. Participants left the event with a renewed sense of responsibility toward environmental preservation and spiritual growth. The event drew significant media attention, amplifying its message to a wider audience.
