Manthan- Sampoorna Vikas Kendra is one of the social initiatives of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan with a mission to provide underprivileged children with high-quality education, enabling them to maximize their potential and transform their lives. Looking ahead, Manthan SVK seeks to expand its network by interacting with students of other schools. In this regard, 11 students along with one teacher of Doon Public School visited Delhi, Shakurpur branch of Manthan SVK on 17 October, 2018 with lots of zeal and enthusiasm of doing something good for the community. The students from Manthan SVK greeted them with a warm welcome.
The children interacted with each other. The students from Doon Public School, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi, spent some quality time with the Manthanites and heard all their life experiences patiently. They also conducted various activities which were based on the topic ‘Balanced Diet’. Firstly, they pasted some posters of Healthy Diet made at their own on the walls. Then they gave a performance showing the benefits of adopting balanced diet in one’s life. After this, several games were played describing the importance of consuming healthy food in daily meals. All the children enthusiastically participated in the activities. They were happy, excited, and were spellbound at these wonderful activities and waiting in anticipation for the next one. Gifts in the form of fruits brought by the students were also given to the Manthanites. In this way, the students were made aware of the benefits of eating fruits.
The whole day was wonderful experience for everyone, and it also brought the people from different sections together as a whole team and learned that each of us as a community can help one another grow and end all social problems. The students also learned that when those who have almost no facilities and privileges in life to make their life better but still try hard to live their dreams, then why can’t we, the privileged section make more efforts to be a better citizen and help the underprivileged to live their dreams.
Overall, it was a healthy learning for all the students.
