Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another. This has been rightly said by Alfred Adler. Empathy is trying to understand what another person is feeling.  It is seeing the world through another’s eyes. It helps people to get along better and to feel better. Childhood is the best age to develop empathy in a person. It is about how students can express themselves with teachers, family members, or friends. Manthan-SVK is an initiative by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan which is working for the benefit of children that belong to the underprivileged sections of the society. Manthan not only works on the education of a child but also takes care of their mental and physical well being as well. To endure such well being, multiple sessions are being organized from time to time in the centres. Such a workshop on Empathy was organized in Manthan, Vikaspuri branch on 5th April 2019. 28 students were a beneficiary of this workshop. This session was organized by Lata Dasila Life skill trainer and coach from the corporate Pitney Bowes, Noida.

Through the mask making activity, a message was passed on to the students that not everything looks as it actually is. There are some good qualities which we display to the world and some bad ones which we try to hide from the world. Every person has some mask behind which he hides his bad qualities. Nobody is truly perfect. The complete session excited the children and taught a multitude of lessons as well to them. The teachers also appreciated the enthusiasm of the children. Overall the event was a complete success. We thank Ms Lata Dasila for her voluntary contribution to the cause.
