The Greed of Hanuman

Rightly said, “God is infinite; His glory is infinite.” Equally true is the fact that devotional tales of the great devotees of our infinite God are also endless. Therefore, it would also not be an exaggeration to say, “Devotion is infinite; tales of devotion too are infinite.” On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti (27th April, 2021), let’s cherish some beautiful incidents pertaining to the great disciple of the Lord, Hanuman.

This incident relates to the times when Ram Rajya (Kingdom characterised by Dharma and righteousness) was established. Spreading a matchless spell of His radiance, Lord Ram, along with Goddess Sita, was gracefully seated in a beautiful, flowery, aromatic, and fragrant grove of Ayodhya. Hanuman was sitting in His lotus feet. Where the powerful trio of the Lord, devotee, and devotion (Sita) is present, how can that place remain devoid of the nectar of spiritual discourse?

The Lord asked his great devotee, “Hanuman, do you remember the incident when we met at the Rishyamook mountain after a long time?”

Hanuman– Lord, how can I forget those priceless moments of my life?

Lord Ram– But, I was extremely surprised at your behaviour then. Hanuman– Why Lord?

….

Lord was surprised by Hanuman’s behaviour!!! Why!!! To know this and furthermore, read the complete article in April’21 edition of English Akhand Gyan Monthly Magazine.
