On the occasion of World Health Day, 2014, DJJS Jalandhar branch put up an Awareness generation counter and Exhibition at a Health Fair organized by Lovely Professional University and Apollo, on (11th-12th April 2014). The idea was to promote Ayurveda and sensitize masses on the effectiveness of Ayurveda as a natural course of complete health & well-being. Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine, for a long period remained a lesser popular stream of medication, however with changing lifestyles as well as climatic conditions, even modern medical science is acknowledging the ability of ayurveda to deal with modern day health problems without producing any side effects. Ayurveda is the only field of medicine were in definition is not defined as absence of disease.
Apart for general public; students, professors and medical professionals specifically visited the counter and showed keen interest in knowing about Ayurveda and ayurvedic medicines and products displayed. Over 350 people benefited from the counter.Young volunteers of the DJJS Jalandhar extended this knowledge to inquisitive visitors at the Aarogya counter. In addition, Ayurvedic products manufactured by SAM Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Nurmahal were also put on sale.
