‘निःशुल्क नेत्र जाचं एवं चिकित्सा शिविर’- a one day Free Eye Checkup Camp was organized by DJJS Ahmedabad in collaboration with Tejas Eye Hospital, Ahmedabad at Arpan Kanya Vidhyalay, D-Cabin, Sabarmati, Chandkheda, Gujarat on 24th May 2017 from 9am to 12pm.
Smt. Kamlaben Vaidya (Councilor, BJP, Chandkheda), Sh. Vikram Singh Solanki (MLA BJP), Smt. Diptiben Patel (Mahila Morcha Karyakarta, BJP) were the eminent guests invited in the camp, who by lightening a lamp inaugurated this camp. One week prior to camp, publicity about the eye camp was done through distribution of pamphlets by DJJS volunteers. With the conscious effort of DJJS and a team of doctor, optometrist, and other staff from Tejas Eye Hospital, about 60 patients were benefitted. With the help of torch light and Keratometer, Ophthalmologist examined patients for clinical conditions such as external eye infections, vision loss caused by nutritional deficiency, presbyopia, myopic vision, cataract, Glaucoma, etc. Refraction was performed on patients who have refractive errors, presbyopia and outdated glasses by well-trained ophthalmic technicians while DJJS volunteers control the patient flow. Prescribed medicines were provided for their diagnosed problems free of cost. And those patients identified with acute problems were referred to hospital for further investigation and treatment. Spectacles were booked at concessional price to patients who were prescribed spectacles.
